The Lennox Robinson Literary Festival, now in its third year, serves to bring a varied programme of literary events to the village of Douglas. The spirit of the festival is to emphasise the area’s literary history, particularly its connection to the celebrated writer and  playwright Lennox Robinson. A native of Douglas, having spent his childhood in Westgrove, he went on to become director of the Abbey Theatre, but always remembered Douglas in his ground-breaking and controversial writing.
